Looking for a CallMiner alternative?
CallMiner Eureka is a serious enterprise speech analytics platform with two decades of pedigree. CallGuard AI is a modern LLM-native call QA product built for teams who want to be scoring calls this week, not in nine months. This page is the honest comparison.
CallMiner is genuinely good at enterprise-scale deployments.
We are not going to pretend CallMiner is a bad product. It is not. If your contact centre has 10,000 seats, an established analytics function, a budget over six figures and a procurement department that wants a vendor with twenty years of references, CallMiner is a credible choice. Three things they do well:
Workflow depth at enterprise scale
CallMiner has been refined over many large deployments. Custom dashboards, role-specific views, deep integrations with workforce-management and BI tools. If your analytics team wants to slice 50,000 calls a day on six dimensions, the platform supports that out of the box.
Established speech analytics
The category they helped invent. Acoustic analysis, talk-over detection, prosodic features, decade-old keyterm libraries. For traditional speech-analytics use cases (silence detection, agitation scoring, churn-risk acoustic markers), they have more shelf-tested machinery than newer entrants.
Enterprise sales experience
If your procurement, security, legal and architecture teams expect a vendor with formal enterprise sales motions, multi-stakeholder discovery, and reference customers in your sector, CallMiner has all of that. They will be on RFP shortlists for big-ticket purchases regardless of who else you evaluate.
Deep customisation
For teams with the analyst capacity and the runway to invest, CallMiner can be tuned to almost any scoring model. Categories, weighted indices, sentiment thresholds, agent benchmarking. The ceiling is high.
CallMiner is heavy in places a modern team wants light.
The same things that make CallMiner robust at enterprise scale make it slow, expensive and procurement-heavy for teams who do not need that machinery. Five gaps we hear most often from people who have evaluated CallMiner and ended up looking for an alternative:
Six to nine month implementations
CallMiner deployments traditionally involve solution architects, professional services, scorecard configuration sprints and integration discovery. For a 50- to 500-seat contact centre that wants to be scoring calls this quarter, that is the wrong shape of project.
Enterprise pricing
List pricing is opaque, contracts are typically multi-year and five-to-six-figure annual minima are normal. For teams who have not yet decided whether AI call QA is the right answer for them, that is a high commitment to make on day one.
Pre-LLM scoring engine
CallMiner's scoring core predates large language models. Their scoring is largely keyword categorisation, statistical models and tuned classifiers. Capable, but not the same as having Claude read the transcript and judge against your scorecard one criterion at a time with an evidence quote attached.
No per-tenant calibration loop
Tuning CallMiner to your firm's interpretation of a scorecard item happens through analyst configuration, not through a feedback loop where your compliance officer's corrections automatically feed back into next week's scoring prompts. The drift problem is solved by having an analyst on staff, not by the model learning.
UK Consumer Duty framing is bolted on
CallMiner's product positioning leads with US contact-centre analytics. The FCA Consumer Duty four-outcomes framing, COBS 9.2 suitability scoring, FG21/1 vulnerability indicators are achievable but not the headline. UK-regulated firms tend to want a vendor who leads with their regulator's vocabulary.
Embedding in your own UI is a project
If you want to render scoring results inside your own CRM or agent desktop rather than in CallMiner's UI, that is achievable but typically a custom-built integration requiring their API team. Not the two-endpoint REST shape modern engineering teams expect.
CallMiner versus CallGuard AI
| Capability | CallMiner | CallGuard AI |
|---|---|---|
| Time to first scored call | Months (services-led implementation) | Same-day onboarding |
| Scoring engine | Pre-LLM classifiers + categories | Claude with per-criterion evidence quotes |
| Per-tenant AI learning | Analyst-driven configuration | Compliance corrections feed back automatically |
| FCA Consumer Duty framing | Generic compliance, configurable | Native COBS 9.2 + four outcomes scorecards |
| Live mid-call breach detection | Available, varies by deployment | 30-second cadence, >75% confidence threshold |
| API-first results fetch | Via professional services | Two endpoints, REST, JSON |
| Pricing | Multi-year, six-figure typical | From £199 per seat, per month, published openly |
| Best fit | 10,000+ seat enterprises with analyst teams | 50- to 5,000-seat contact centres + UK regulated firms |
Pick the right tool for your actual situation.
Pick CallMiner if
You run more than 5,000 seats, you have a dedicated speech analytics analyst team, you can absorb a six-figure annual contract, you have a six-to-nine-month implementation runway, and your procurement department needs a vendor with two decades of references in your sector.
Pick CallGuard AI if
You want to be scoring calls this week, you want LLM-native scoring with evidence quotes, you want the AI to calibrate to your compliance officer's interpretation automatically, you want to embed results in your own CRM or agent desktop via REST, and you would rather pay a published per-seat price than commit to a multi-year minimum.
Common questions, answered.
Can CallGuard AI replace CallMiner for an existing CallMiner customer?
For most teams under 5,000 seats, yes. The capabilities that matter for compliance scoring (transcription, per-criterion judgement, evidence quotes, breach detection, coaching) are all in CallGuard AI. The capabilities that matter for traditional speech analytics (acoustic features, prosody, agitation scoring) are not our focus. If your team uses CallMiner for the analytics half and would still want compliance scoring done with modern LLMs, you can run CallGuard AI alongside CallMiner rather than instead of it.
What about data migration from CallMiner?
If your call recordings are in S3, SFTP or a Genesys / Avaya / Five9 archive, push them into CallGuard via our REST API and we re-score them. If they are inside CallMiner's storage, we work with you to export per-call audio plus your scorecard configuration; the scorecard transfers cleanly because CallGuard AI uses the same item-by-item structure.
How does pricing actually work?
From £199 per seat, per month, with volume discounts as your team grows and no multi-year minimum required. The AI learning, exemplar library and coaching memory are included on Growth and Pro plans. Full details on the pricing page.
Is CallGuard AI suitable for a 10,000-seat contact centre?
Architecturally yes; calls are processed in parallel and the system scales with throughput. Practically, very large floors often prefer a vendor with 20-year references, dedicated technical account management and on-prem options. We do not sell on those terms today. If those are your hard requirements, CallMiner or NICE may fit better. If they are not, talk to us.
How do you handle FCA-regulated firms specifically?
That is a primary design point for CallGuard AI. Our scorecards lead with COBS 9.2 suitability, FG21/1 vulnerability, and the four Consumer Duty outcomes by default. More on financial services scoring here.
